Review: Childs Play billed as a horror movie, but it's hard to classify it as such. Especially with the patterns 1980. There are no cattle brainless teens, unwarranted no nudity and not ridiculously high body count. If something goes Childs Play as an episode of The Twilight Zone Rod Serling. Its scary, but in the end not shocking. This is no coincidence. An episode of The Twilight Zone called Living Doll used a similar premise. Childs Play is very well done, considering its about a serial killer who uses magic voodoo to transfer his soul into a doll. The quality is well above average for a horror movie and momentum builds as well. The viewer is forced to wait a long time before they actually see Chucky kill anyone. If anyone has seen VH1's I Love the 80s, then you've probably seen Dee Snider fake movie: It's a puppet! Get on it! It's the end!. If Chucky tried to go on a killing rampage, this would work. But he does not. It uses discriçãoe cunning to compensate for the shortcomings of his small body. He reveals his true self only young Andy, the boy that he receives as a birthday present. He kills all his unfortunate victim without much difficulty. After all, who would suspect an innocent doll can kill you when you're not looking? Perhaps the biggest problem with Childs Play is that it was advertised as an evil puppet movie. Chucky was on all the posters and commercials, knife in hand. It would have worked much better as a suspense thriller where you suspect that little Andy Barclay is the killer. Despite its flaws, like a horror movie, is Childs Play is still a good movie, because it paints a bleak picture and needs of the 80s: the frustration of single parents, the dangerous Dark innerstä not, and try to get their children to expensive toy that they just * have * to have. Childs Play also came at a time when the dolls were very popular: Teddy Ruxpin, Cabbage Patch Kids, my friend and her sister were all hot items. My children loved these things, but there is something inherently sinister dolls. Glazed eyes and permanent smiles seem fake. Overall, Childs play a movie that probably could because it was the right place at the right time. Despite their value, at least some impressions. Chucky is easily one of the top 3 villains in horror movies of the 1980s, along with Freddie Krueger and Gremlins. Rating: 4 of 5 stars
